Mark 5, 21-43
A MAN IS CALLED JAIRUS. HE IS A LEADER OF A SYNAGOGUE (= PLACE WHERE JEWS PRAY AND READ). JAIRUS HAS A DAUGHTER.
HIS DAUGHTER IS VERY ILL.
JESUS TALKS AND PREACHES TO MANY PEOPLE. JAIRUS RUNS TO JESUS. HE WANTS TO TALK TO HIM.
JAIRUS TELLS JESUS: "MY DAUGHTER IS VERY ILL. PLEASE HELP!"
"YOU CAN HEAL HER SO SHE CAN LIVE AND STAND UP AGAIN!"
JESUS AND JAIRUS GO HOME. MANY PEOPLE FOLLOW THEM.
SOME PEOPLE COME TO THEM AND SAY: "YOU DON'T NEED TO COME. YOUR DAUGHTER IS ALREADY DEAD! THERE IS NOW NO NEED TO BOTHER JESUS."
JESUS SAYS TO JAIRUS: "DON'T DESPAIR! TRUST ME!"
THEY GO INSIDE THE HOUSE.
SOME PEOPLE ARE IN FRONT OF THE HOUSE. THEY ARE CRYING LOUDLY.
JESUS ASKS THE PEOPLE: "WHY ARE YOU CRYING? THE GIRL IS NOT DEAD! SHE IS JUST ASLEEP!"
THE PEOPLE LAUGH AT JESUS. THEY WALK AWAY.
JESUS WALKS WITH THE MOTHER AND THE FATHER OF THE GIRL INSIDE THE ROOM. THEY LOOK AT THE GIRL.
JESUS LOOKS AT THE DEAD GIRL. HE TAKES HER HAND AND TELLS HER: "PLEASE, STAND UP NOW!"
THE GIRL REALLY STANDS UP AND WALKS AROUND THE ROOM!
THE MOTHER AND THE FATHER CANNOT BELIEVE IT. JESUS TELLS THEM: "PLEASE GIVE THE GIRL SOMETHING TO EAT!"
